On Wednesday, February 24th 2016, the Institute AEIPLOUS successfully organized the final conference for the presentation to the wider and specific public of a Photovoltaic Parking Station and Skylight which was constructed and installed at the premises of Patras Science Park within the frames of the European project DIDSOLIT-PB “Development and Implementation of Decentralized Solar Energy-Related Innovative Technologies for Public Buildings in the Mediterranean Basin Countries“. A large number of researchers, academics, University students and representatives from companies activating in the field of photovoltaic attended the conference and the presentation of the Photovoltaic Parking Station & Skylight.
From the left: Prof. Vassilis Anastasopoulos, President & CEO of Patras Science Park, Mr. Andreas Kotsifas, Director of EcoProgress company and Prof. Vagelis Papadakis from AEIPLOUS, Local Project Manager.
The President and CEO of Patras Science Park, Prof. Vassilis Anastasopoulos congratulated the entire research team of Institute AEIPLOUS for the completion of this innovating project underlining that such projects contribute to the development of the local area and should be the beginning for further investments in RES sector.
Prof. Vagelis Papadakis (AEIPLOUS, local project manager) presented the DIDSOLIT-PB project as well as the innovative solar power technologies also installed at Spain, Greece (Chania), Egypt and Jordan by the other consortium partners.
Following, Dr. Thanasis Fatsikostas, technical expert of DIDSOLIT-PB, presented the characteristics of the installed innovative solar technology of the Photovoltaic Parking Station & Skylight at Patras Science Park. Mr. Andreas Kotsifas, Director of EcoProgress company, which undertook the whole installation of the Photovoltaic Parking Station & Skylight, presented the installation methodology and the way difficulties which were encountered during the installation process were addressed due to the specificity of the materials.

The online platform that is going to monitor all the solar applications in public buildings, promoted and installed by the DIDSOLIT-PB ENPI-CBC-MED project, is now operative and will soon be linked to the Project web.
More than 260 kWp and 18 solar applications are going to be connected to the monitoring platform progressively, as each of the installation works finishes in Catalonia, Patras, Crete, Matrouh, Alexandria, Al-Salt and Irbid.
Each monitorized building will enable us and the users to track the energy consumption, the Renewable Energy contribution (instant kW, cumulative kWh and % of coverage), so that we can better value savings in both CO2 emissions and economic costs.
As far the project has installed one pilot in their building, the Fundació Sanitària de Mollet shares with their stakeholders this new tool to become sustainable in the near future.

SOSTENIBILITAT
